How to get rid of a telemarketer asking you to do a survey

Have you ever sat down to a nice dinner and you phone rings.

You answer: “Hello”

They say: ” Mister So-and-So do you have a few minutes to answer a few questions.”

Immediately you think: “Arrrrrr, my Kraft Dinner is getting cold.”

What could you say to end the conversation quickly and politely?

Here is one I used: “Excuse me could I ask a question?”

Most likely they will say yes.

Then ask: “Are you paying me for the survey?”

At that point some will just hang up like the one who called today around lunch time but most will be polite and say: “Sorry no. But the survey is important.”

Of course it is important especially to the telemarketer this how he or she gets paid.

At this point you may say that (if it is true, don’t lie.): “I get paid for my opinion when I take a survey since my time is important. So could you please take me off your list and please have a nice day.”

If the above statement is not true then you could say: “I appreciate that this may be important but I receive so many telemarketing calls that I would appreciate you removing my name from your list.”

Hopefully they will say ok we will take your name off our list and then end the conversation on a good note by saying good bye.

In many areas it is a legal requirement for the telemarketer to remove you name from their list if it has been requested.

But if you do like taking a survey go ahead and give them the information they want for free.

Remember there are companies that will pay you for your opinion. I took one survey that paid me $75.00 for one hour of my time. Now that’s what I am talking about. If you like surveys and like getting paid then you have the best of both worlds.

Just do a simple search on the Internet for “Get Paid For” and you will find a number of sites dedicated to the subject.

War and Religion a Bloody Mix

Hello:

Imagine if Religion preached peace and practiced peace.

Imagine if Religion preached to put down weapons AND not shoot a gun at a man, woman or child.

Imagine if Religion stopped mixing in politics.

Imagine if Religion discouraged the battle.

Imagine if Religion taught the sermon on the mount and followed the advice. As a very famous politician once said about the sermon on the mount it would solve the worlds problems. This man was not a so called Christian.

Imagine Priests, Holy men and Clerics not leading the charge into the battle.

Just imagine when war and religion are synonymous with peace and kindness.

Just imagine.

My Rant for the day.

Today most would agree that the most bloody wars began with Religions thirst for power. If you don’t agree do some research.

All I would have to say would be the Crusades, WWII, White Russian, Red Russian and 9/11.

Who encouraged millions to the glory of the battle?

Who could have stopped the death in countries such as Rwanda?

What about the carnage of Ireland?

I have seen photos of Priests blessing weapons. I have a stamp from 1919 of a Priest leading the White Russians into battle.

If religions taught peace, harmony and not to pick up the sword, spear, arrow and gun would that not solve most problems such as war?

Think of WWII if religion didn’t side with Hitler in Germany would WWII have happened? Instead millions died.

I hope this wasn’t too depressing. But the facts are the facts.

The Smoking Litterer – Green What’s That? – My Rant.

Have you ever driven behind someone and then you see these little white glowing things being chucked out the window?

Yes, that’s right a smoker doing what is natural to their will and whim. I presume they feel that the butt is better outside their vehicle instead of inside their precious spectacular vehicle. You know why litter the ride with those unsightly little white, grey, charcoal, black and some orange colored round bits of death.

Why is littering butts such a bad way of thinking since they are made from natural products?

Well I can think of one right off. FOREST FIRES not to mention most deadly products come from natural products in their raw form for example the nuclear bomb, cyanide and plastic. I know that a nuclear bomb is much more hazardous to the environment than one butt but what about the millions upon millions that litter our streets, highways and rivers. I wonder if a fish would enjoy a smoke?

Now enough of this line of reasoning.

The reality is if a person doesn’t mind chucking out a cigarette butt the window then what about other types of garbage?

Yes as I was driving down the road behind a silver car I saw one butt fly out the window then a second butt but it didn’t just stop there a couple of minutes later there goes a plastic wrapper out the window I guess the driver wanted to keep his car clean and not the environment. I wonder if he had a cup, tissue, plastic wrapper or banana peel where it would go if he was in his car. Oh yes into our beautiful littered landscape. No sense littering in the car when we have the beautiful outdoor world.

I guess the smoking litterer is really only looking out for themselves and forgetting that we are all a part of a wonderful multicolored blue and green marble called the earth. Hopefully they will make a change in the live style from “Green What’s That?” to Green what a wonderful color.
