5 Ways To Increase Your Website Profit Without Increasing Traffic
WriteArticles-GetWebsiteTraffic.com

To succeed in Internet marketing, you need to learn how to maximize the value of your website visitors. Here are the top 5 strategies on how to squeeze the most profit out of your website:

1. Tweak Your Sales Copy

The most sure-fire way to increase your profits is to tweak your sales copy to increase the conversion ratio of your website. Conversion ratio is how many visitors you need on average in order to make a sale.

Look at your website statistics for the last month ? how many unique visitors did you have? Now look at your sales report ? how many sales did you make? Based on these numbers, how many visitors do you need to make a sale?

Let?s say you are currently selling to 1 out of 200 visitors. If you tweak your sales copy so it starts selling to 1 out of 100 visitors, you will double your sales ? without having to increase your traffic!

2. Tweak Your Prices

Most commonly you will make more money if you increase your prices. Lowering prices can result in more sales, but lower total profits ? the number of additional customers is often not enough to cover the price drop.

If you slightly increase your prices, most of the time you will not lose many customers and will end up with more money in your pocket.

Experiment with both increasing and decreasing your prices to find your most profitable price point.

3. Capture Visitor E-Mails

If you don?t get your visitors e-mail addresses, you lose those visitors forever once they leave your website. You will not get a chance to convince them to buy at a later time.

When you get their e-mails, you can constantly follow-up by e-mail and get many more chances to sell. If you don?t have a mailing list on your website, you are leaving a lot of money on the table.

4. Upsell

If someone clicks on a ?Buy? button for one of your products, offer them a choice of ?deluxe? version of this product at a higher price. This technique is called ?Upsell?. The prospect is already excited about the product, and is very likely to go for a beefed-up version of this product.

Just ask if they want a deluxe version, and offer a choice of ?Yes? or ?No, I just want standard?. You have nothing to lose. If they choose to upgrade, you get more money just for asking. If they go for the standard version, that?s what they would?ve gotten in the first place ? you still don?t lose anything.

5. Backend Sales

Those who already bought something from you are very likely to buy from you again (providing that your product met their expectations). It?s much easier to sell something to existing customers than to a cold prospect. Sales that come from marketing to existing customers are called ?backend sales?.

Keep in touch with your customers by e-mail, and promote your other products that might interest them. If you don?t have additional products, become a reseller for other companies that sell relevant products, and make commission on those sales.

How To Make Money Online Without A Website

How To Make Money Online Without A Website

by Melanie Mendelson
WriteArticles-GetWebsiteTraffic.com

You don’t need to have a website to make money on the
Internet. Here is a proven strategy to make money online
without a website:

Step 1: Find Affiliate Product

Find a product to promote where you make good commission on
each sale. Generally, you will get the biggest commissions
on digital products. Digital products are defined as
something that is downloaded directly to a customer’s
computer after purchasing, like electronic books or
software.

Since there is no extra cost per unit, no inventory and no
shipping, the commissions are much greater than on regular
“physical” goods. The most common commission on digital
products is 50%. The best place to find such products is
Clickbank.com.

Sign up as a reseller (also called affiliate) for a product
that looks the most appealing to you. After you sign up,
you will get a unique affiliate link where you need to send
people to purchase the product.

Your affiliate link will have a special code that will tell
the product owner that it’s you who referred the customer.
The affiliate link code will allow your commissions to be
tracked correctly and assigned to you.

Step 2: Get Domain Name

Get a domain name to redirect to your affiliate link. A
domain name is a .COM name (like yourproduct.com). You can
get it for under $9 at GoDaddy.com. GoDaddy.com will allow
you to redirect your domain name to your affiliate link at
no extra cost.

So when someone types in your .COM domain in their browser,
it will go to your affiliate link. The visitor will see
the website with the product you promote, and the
commissions will be tracked correctly.

The reason why you need a domain name is that it’s
memorable and it makes you look more trustworthy. Affiliate
links tend to be too long and arouse suspicion. For
example, most people would rather click on the link
bestwidgets.com as opposed to abcwidgets.com?reseller=john

A domain name will make your affiliate link look like it’s
your own website. So basically, you will have a product to
promote and a website to send people to and get commissions
- without really having your own website.

Step 3: Get Traffic

In order to make sales, you need to get visitors to your
domain name (which will forward them to the website of the
product that you resell). You can pay for advertising and
hope that your profit will be greater than advertising
cost, or you can use free ways to generate traffic.

The most effective way to get free targeted visitors to
your domain name is by writing and submitting articles. You
can write short articles on the topic related to the
product that you promote. At the end of the article, you
include your author bio and your domain name link.

You will then submit your articles to various websites, and
allow them to publish your articles as long as your link is
included. Your articles will get published in many places
on the Internet, and will be advertising your affiliate
link at no cost to you whatsoever. People will read your
articles, like what you have to say and click on your
domain name link ready to buy.

Once you start getting regular sales from your articles,
you can go back to step 1 and find another product to
promote using this strategy. After a while, you will build
up a nice source of Internet income – without even having a
website.

What if AdWords were easy and cheap? The ?Google Magic Formula? is finally revealed…

Apr 28, 2008 in Marketing, Money, Tips

Okay, first of all, Andrew and Steven?s Google Magic Formula must have struck a nerve.

There must be lots of people who are tired of handing over the lion?s share of their AdWords profits to Google. Maybe you are. If so, here?s how to keep your money:

==> Google Magic Formula <==

These guys were offering a killer ?secret? bonus to the first 50 buyers, but I doubt it?s still there. Might be worth a look just in case, though.

Regardless, you can start making $100, $200, $500 or more every single day from Google…if you crack the code and apply the formula Andrew and Steven give you.

It really is that simple.

==> Google Magic Formula <==

I?m sure you?ve heard the tired old garbage about ?starting slow? and ?building up? to making decent money with AdWords.

Well, not entirely. It?s good not to get sucked into risky schemes that claim you?ll make a million overnight.

Those are scams nearly every time (if you find one that isn?t, please let me know!)

But Andrew and Steven?s book is different. These guys speak in plain English. They don?t waste your time on flowery theory. They don?t give you tired strategies that used to work well back in 1999.

Instead, they lay everything out so real human beings can follow the steps.

==> Google Magic Formula <==

If you?ve been struggling to make it online, or you?ve always wondered how the ?big guys? seem to make money hand over fist without breaking a sweat, you?ll find the answers here.

Is AdWords the only way to make it online? No, but it?s a fantastic good way if you know what you?re doing.

This simple guide lays it out for you like a blueprint. Andrew says his strategy has let him live life on his own terms, and I believe him.

Imagine ignoring the alarm clock…or not even using one.

Imagine NEVER missing the family time you?re missing now.

Imagine buying what you want without even caring what it costs.

You won?t get there immediately, but you CAN get there fast, despite what some people say.

Andrew and Steven?s book is your roadmap to get there, and I strongly encourage you to take a look at it:

Keyword Density ? It is important.

Apr 28, 2008 in Tips

Keyword Density ? It is important.

When you here the term Keyword Density you may wonder what it is? Keyword density is the number of times the keyword you selected to highlight on your web page has been used. It is important not to use a keyword over and over again but should appear in important places on your web page.

By repeating a keyword on every line or repeat it over and over again then your site may be rejected as a spam or artificial site.

As you may have already discovered keyword density is described as a percentage of your word content on a webpage or article.

Think of it this way you have a web page that you have written and it has 500 words on it, you use a keyword 25 times within the content of that page. Simply put the keyword density would be 500 divided by 25 which would equal to .05 or 5% of the page content.

Search engines acceptable standard for keyword density is between 3-5% so you will be recognized by the search engines. Try never to exceed the 5% limit.

The 5% rule should apply to each and ever page on your site. Not just the one where you have optimized the page for that specific keyword. The density relates to all products and services that you have on your site.

Ways to check the keyword density on your site:

 1. When you are finished writing your copy for your page or article copy and paste the content into a word processor.
 2. Within the word processor select the Word Count function in the word processor and write down the number of words on that page.
 3. Go to the Find function and type in the keyword in the Find section and then in the Replace section type in the same word. If you use the same word your copy won?t change.
 4. Once the replace function is completed then you should have a count of the number of places the same word has been replaced. This gives you the number of times that keyword has been used on that specific page.
 5. When you have the number of keywords on the page then you can calculate the keyword density for that word on your page.

So that?s it quite simple but effective.

Enjoy.

Bryan

How To STOP Affiliate Link “Hijackers”

Apr 24, 2008 in ProfitMart Help, Tips

How To STOP Affiliate Link “Hijackers”

By Jim Edwards

(c) 2002 Jim Edwards – all right reserved

Let’s face the facts!

Almost everyone online today is looking to make or save a
buck any way they can. In the past, most of the people who
clicked on your affiliate links used to purchase without a
second thought… but, as times get tougher online, it seems
a growing number won’t!

As money gets tighter and product prices rise, people who
know how to manipulate the system will sometimes replace
your affiliate ID with theirs and “hijack” your commissions.

Here’s an example:

Let’s say your affiliate link is
www.ebookaboutcats.com/?live-well.

Say the highjacker uses the affiliate ID of captain-hook.
What he would do is replace your ID with his, and buy from
the URL www.ebookaboutcats.com/?captain-hook.

The bottom line: the hijacker puts your money in his pocket.

In other cases, they can’t stand the thought of you “making
money off them” so they bypass you by simply chopping off
the end of your affiliate link that contains your ID.

Instead of buying from www.ebookaboutcats.com/?live-well,
the bypasser will simply “chop off” the affiliate ID at the
end and simply buy from the plain URL www.ebookaboutcats.com
–without your affiliate ID attached!

Either way, you get cheated out of your rightful commission.

To help you fight these affiliate link hijackers I offer a
couple of my best (proven and battle tested) tips, which
will at least confuse these “hijackers” and, in many cases,
often defeat and disarm them completely.

Side Note: If someone really, really wants to steal your
affiliate commission, they will find a way; however, most
hijackers are just opportunists who will only act if they
see an easy buck.

The first and cheapest way to hide your affiliate links is
using a javascript redirect page. This is where you hide
your affiliate link in a page on your site using a simple
javascript that redirects people to your affiliate link.

It works great not to expose your “naked” affiliate link in
your actual email messages and ezine ads, but, once people
get redirected to the true affiliate link, many affiliate
programs expose the affiliate link along with your ID in the
browser address bar.

Here’s an example of a redirect script in action.
Click => http://www.ebookfire.com/esejs.html

Notice how the link takes you to a page where you can see my
affiliate ID, ebookfire, in your web browser’s address bar.

Like it or not, someone can replace my ID with theirs and
“hijack” the commission… but at least the redirect script
keeps them from immediately seeing my “naked” affiliate link
(http://hop.clickbank.net/?ebookfire/ebksecrets) when I
publish it in my newsletter, email, or on my website.

You can get free redirect scripts just about anywhere you
find free javascripts. Here is the script I use

http://www.ebookfire.com/jrs.shtml.

A better way to hide your affiliate links is using a zero-
frame or “invisible” frame that masks the affiliate link by
making it appear you are sending people to a page on your
website. In reality, you are actually sending them to your
affiliate link.

This is the technique used by those “sub-domain” redirect
services that provide you with urls like

http://ese.ebookfire.net.

While giving someone a link like that is much better than
using a “naked” affiliate link such as
http://hop.clickbank.net/?ebookfire/ebksecrets, there is a
problem. As soon as someone does a “view >> source” in their
web browser they’ll see your naked affiliate link plain as
day… which instantly blows your cover!

Currently the best way to protect your affiliate commissions
from ruthless hijackers is to use a combination of a zero-
frame page along with URL encryption. This involves sending
someone to URL that looks like a page on your site, but
actually pulls in your affiliate link like those “sub-
domain” services. However, there’s one critical
difference…

If someone does a “view >> source” in their browser, you
have added protection in that all they will see is a jumble
of computer code (http:) instead of
your naked affiliate link.

Check out this example of a zero-frame with URL encryption
in action.
Click => http://www.ebookfire.com/ese.html

Side Note: Beware of cloaking scripts that use javascript
because they could malfunction in some web browsers.

Here’s the bottom line: if you are going to sell through
other people’s affiliate programs, never send a “naked”
affiliate link… you’re just asking for people to hijack or
bypass you if you do.

Though nobody has a 100% perfect solution to this problem,
if you want to get paid more often through your affiliate
links, make sure it’s not obvious you’re referring people to
an affiliate link. If they can’t easily see how to hijack or
bypass your link, a lot more people who would have taken the
money out of your pocket just go ahead and buy through your
link – which is, after all, the whole point! :-)

Tips on Using Blogs & the Use of Forums

Apr 17, 2008 in Tips

Tips on Using Blogs

Create a blog that channels to your product?s sales letter.

Create web pages with content related to the product you are promoting. The more relevant your web site is to your product, the more targeted your prospects are when you channel them to your affiliates sales letter through links and banner ads. This will improve your conversion rate as well. You can get a free blog account at www.Blogger.com.

Be sure to Post as often as you can in your blog

The minimum posting frequency should be once a week. When you start posting on your blog for the first time, include a minimum of 20 to 30 posts to start with. Your posts can consist of short articles (150-300 words), news, and updates related to the Resell Rights product or the nature of the product.

If you are using Blogger.com, archive your posts on a daily basis and build internal links between your pages so that you can quickly build your blog?s Google page ranking (PR).

Make sure that all of your posts are keyword-rich and keyword-focused

The logic behind this is that it will be easy for people to search your blog via search engines. Secondly, if you are subscribed to Google AdSense, your Google ads are more focused, too.

If you don?t have your own content to post on your blog, you can use other people?s articles from article directories to post on your blog.

As long as they have reprint rights and that you include their authors? resource box, you can use other people?s articles from public article directories or other blogs to post on your blog.

You can leverage your posting power on your blog by recruiting other news posters to post relevant articles on your blog.

In return, you can allow them to post a short advertisement under their articles or posts. If the news posters are sufficient to lift you off your posting work, you can focus on driving targeted traffic to the blog.

Post an advertisement of your affiliate product at the top of your page or at the bottom of every post for free exposure.

Submit your blog to feeds and RSS to sites such as www.newsgator.com, www.feedburner.com, www.feedster.com and www.bloglines.com.

RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, allows you to publish your content on other people’s websites. You can create a feed that contains details about the products you offer and submit it to major RSS feed directories.

Tips on Using Forums

Forums are like online communities, and you should take advantage of these communities by participating in discussions and letting people know about your website in your signature.

Participate in forums where your prospects are.

You should participate in forums with the intention of helping forum members or exchange useful information. While most forums are against blatant advertising in posts, you are usually allowed to post your advertisements in your signature file. This is where you can place a link to affiliate product sales letter.

You can easily search for forums where your prospects are through search engines.

Be sure to include these keywords in your search: “forum”, “discussion board”, and “newsgroup”.

If there is a section in the forum dedicated to articles, post your article in effort to help other forum members

This is a good chance to first prove your worth and credibility. Furthermore, when you have something to offer, people are more likely to trust a person of credibility.

When starting out, actively participate in a maximum of two forums only.

You don?t want to spread your attention far and wide. You need to focus. Avoid jumping forums if possible.

And leave the forum only if the forum is inactive or the forum has poor quality prospects.

Also, If you are on the hunt for Joint Venture partners, you can PM (Private Message) potential partners in forums.

However, do make a special mention of their name and their web site, if any, so that your message won?t be classified as “spam”.

Protecting Your Search Engine Rankings

Apr 16, 2008 in Tips

Protecting Your Search Engine Rankings
===================================================

Your site ranking on search engines is vital to a marketing campaign, and there are ways to improve your link popularity through legitimate methods. Unfortunately, the Internet is populated by bands of dishonest webmasters seeking to improve their link popularity by faking out search engines.

The good news is that search engines have figured this out, and are now on guard for “spam” pages and sites that have increased their rankings by artificial methods. When a search engines tracks down such a site, that site is demoted in ranking or completely removed from the search engine’s index.

The bad news is that some high quality, completely above-board sites are being mistaken for these web page criminals. Your page may be in danger of being caught up in the “spam” net and tossed from a search engine’s index, even though you have done nothing to deserve such harsh treatment. But there are things you can do – and things you should be sure NOT to do – which will prevent this kind of misperception.

Link popularity is mostly based on the quality of sites you are linked to. Google pioneered this criteria for assigning website ranking, and virtually all search engines on the Internet now use it. There are legitimate ways to go about increasing your link popularity, but at the same time, you must be scrupulously careful about which sites you choose to link to. Google frequently imposes penalties on sites that have linked to other sites solely for the purpose of artificially boosting their link popularity. They have actually labeled these links “bad neighborhoods.”

You can raise a toast to the fact that you cannot be penalized when a bad neighborhood links to your site; penalty happens only when you are the one sending out the link to a bad neighborhood. But you must check, and double-check, all the links that are active on your links page to make sure you haven’t linked to a bad neighborhood.

Make sure the pages you link to are not penalized by Google. Do this by downloading the Google toolbar and making sure the Page Rank function is active.

Do not link to any site that shows no green at all on the scale. This is especially important when the scale is completely gray. It is more than likely that these pages have been penalized. If you are linked to these pages, you may catch their penalty, and like the flu, it may be difficult to recover from the infection.

Don’t be afraid of linking to a site that is very low on the Page Rank since they could go up in the Page Rank as time goes by.

Another evil trick that illicit webmasters use to artificially boost their link popularity is the use of hidden text. Search engines usually use the words on web pages as a factor in forming their rankings, which means that if the text on your page contains your keywords, you have more of an opportunity to increase your search engine ranking than a page that does not contain text inclusive of keywords.

Some webmasters have gotten around this formula by hiding their keywords in such a way so that they are invisible to any visitors to their site. For example, they have used the keywords but made them the same color as the background color of the page, such as a plethora of white keywords on a white background. You cannot see these words with the human eye – but the eye of search engine spider can spot them easily! A spider is the program search engines use to index web pages, and when it sees these invisible words, it goes back and boosts that page’s link ranking.

Webmasters may be brilliant and sometimes devious, but search engines have figured these tricks out. As soon as a search engine perceive the use of hidden text – splat! the page is penalized.

The downside of this is that sometimes the spider is a bit overzealous and will penalize a page by mistake. For example, if the background color of your page is gray, and you have placed gray text inside a black box, the spider will only take note of the gray text and assume you are employing hidden text. To avoid any risk of false penalty, simply direct your webmaster not to assign the same color to text as the background color of the page – ever!

Another potential problem that can result in a penalty is called “keyword stuffing.” It is important to have your keywords appear in the text on your page, but sometimes you can go a little overboard in your enthusiasm to please those spiders. A search engine uses what is called “Keyphrase Density” to determine if a site is trying to artificially boost their ranking. This is the ratio of keywords to the rest of the words on the page. Search engines assign a limit to the number of times you can use a keyword before it decides you have overdone it and penalizes your site.

This ratio is quite high, so it is difficult to surpass without sounding as if you are stuttering – unless your keyword is part of your company name. If this is the case, it is easy for keyword density to soar. So, if your keyword is “renters insurance,” be sure you don’t use this phrase in every sentence. Carefully edit the text on your site so that the copy flows naturally and the keyword is not repeated incessantly. A good rule of thumb is your keyword should never appear in more than half the sentences on the page.

The final potential risk factor is known as “cloaking.” To those of you who are diligent Trekkies, this concept should be easy to understand. For the rest of you cloaking is when the server directs a visitor to one page and a search engine spider to a different page. The page the spider sees is “cloaked” because it is invisible to regular traffic, and deliberately set-up to raise the site’s search engine ranking. A cloaked page tries to feed the spider everything it needs to rocket that page’s ranking to the top of the list.

It is natural that search engines have responded to this act of deception with extreme enmity, imposing steep penalties on these sites. The problem on your end is that sometimes pages are cloaked for legitimate reasons, such as prevention against the theft of code, often referred to as “pagejacking.” This kind of shielding is unnecessary these days due to the use of “off page” elements, such as link popularity, that cannot be stolen.

Super Affiliate Link Manager

Avoid Pagejacking with a link cloaker found at Super-Affiliate-Link-Manager. In order to use Super-Affiliate-Link-Manager, you will need to have your own domain and hosting provider. You will need access to a MySQL database. You will need to have PHP 4.0.6 or later installed. And not required but highly recommended, you will need to have mod_rewrite installed and activated. Most hosting providers meet these requirements.

To be on the safe side, be sure that your webmaster is aware that absolutely no cloaking is acceptable. Make sure the webmaster understands that cloaking of any kind will put your website at great risk.

Just as you must be diligent in increasing your link popularity and your ranking, you must be equally diligent to avoid being unfairly penalized. So be sure to monitor your site closely and avoid any appearance of artificially boosting your rankings.
